Ted O’Donnell is one of my favourite contemporary photographers working today. Based in Sydney, Ted shoots stunning landscape, portraiture and editorial images.
There’s a quiet revery to his images that captures and holds your attention, as if begging you to uncover the secret truth hidden just beneath the surface, or behind the lens.
Check out some shots below. All images from Ted O’Donnell, words by me.
The soft air was heavy with heat. Oppressive heat that made the particles flicker like an oil slick on the black asphalt.
Baby blue sky distracted from the ominous silence of the street that pervaded every breath he took.
Grey it billowed, the smoke past the time worn tips of his finger tips. The slight tinge of human flesh tacky in the air and on the end of the tongue.
Plush, velvet and soft as dust. The colours opulent and unapologetic, the petals mysterious and all enveloping.
Breath heavy and husky, mind caught in a turmoil. The cool metal cross crisp against her chest feels achingly present.
