I don’t know what it is about silk, but I’m obsessed with it. Just like my obsession with puffy-sleeved white shirts, there’s something about a silk camisole that I just can’t get enough of.
By nature, silk is a very luxurious material. It’s one of the finest and strongest natural fibres in the world.
Because it’s a protein fibre, silk is chemically quite similar to human skin which is why it feels almost like a ‘second skin’. It’s breathable on a hot summer day and helps keep you warm during the colder months. Plus it’s shiny and, let’s be real, shine is everything.
Believe it or not, my mum was about to throw away this beautiful number I’m wearing above before I, very thoughtfully, adopted it as my own.
A babydoll-cut is not usually my style as I think it kind of makes me look pregnant?! But somehow in this camisole, I don’t mind. There’s an edgy-80s feel about this camisole that, when combined with the luxe silk texture, gives me strong Madonna cone -bra vibes which I am absolutely here for.
